It's been a while. I think I've lost you. So to reintroduce myself, I have one piece of sound advice: Never make your own wedding cake. I knew this yet I had to go and do it anyway. It was trying and it made me cry - in a bad way. But in the end the wobbly thing made it to the reception and we ate it.
