Vancouver love

Vancouver on a warm sunny summer day is a slice of heaven. Photos from the view at our table at Sandbar, right under the Granville St Bridge, for Andrew's belated Birthday lunch.

Lovely things from an extended weekend with Andrew's family.

a big old expensive house

Photos from an excursion to Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria this weekend. In my opinion, I don't think this is really a castle but more like a big'ol expensive house. The wood paneling in this mansion is exquisite. I wanted so much to run my hands across all the panels and mouldings but we were told we could only touch the railing. And just a quick peak at the website now led me to the facility rental section. This is news to me, I've always thought that this place was not available for rentals, e.g. for a wedding perhaps? But where can you have your soiree? They have most of the rooms roped off and displayed with originals and antiques. I wonder if wedding guests can sink some balls on the giant antique billiards table, have tea in the sitting room, or pull out books in the library for some light reading.

Minifig Motif

I knew that I would fall in love with these guys as soon as I scribbled the first rough sketch of the minifig motif. I wasn't sure at first if I was going to use them at all, now I love them so much that they are on all of the wedding stationary. I'm trying to come up with more ideas to use them. Perhaps printed on iron on transfers to make T shirts, or temporary tattoos, or custom printed on M&Ms, or buttons, or badges to go on neon 80's sports head bands, or silk screened onto tea towels, or strawberry scented stickers, or... ...

a productive day
